Weekend Beer Buzz 05/28/2015

It’s finally starting to feel like Summer here in Colorado. The weather’s looking great, the calendar’s filling up, and the beer’s are cold.

It’s shaping up to be an awesome weekend, with two fun festivals, several tap takeovers, plenty of new releases, and a tasty Beer Hunter’s Report.

Bruery Terreux is launching in Colorado and is set to hit Freshcraft on Thursday night. Terreux is the Funky Farmhouse side of The Bruery that ‘s known for beers such as Sour in the Rye, Oude Tart and numerous others. Beginning at 7 PM, they’ll tap:

Copper Kettle will release Copper Hopper IPA on Friday at Noon. This is a traditional American IPA with notes of citrus and pine. The Tony Guacamole Food Truck will be on site serving up nachos and burritos. Copper Kettle Brewing is located at: 1338 S Valentia St #101, Denver, CO 80247.

Head to Dry Dock on Friday for this week’s Firkin Friday Tapping. This time around it’s a Citrus Basil Session Rye. Tapping set for Friday at 3 PM. Dry Dock Brewing is located at: 15120 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO 80014. 303-400-5606.

Congrats to Coda Brewing on their 1st Anniversary! Head to the brewery on Saturday and help them celebrate. When the doors open at Noon, they’ll have 5 new bottles ready for release. Look for Dogcatcher Red Ale, Via Chicago Pale Ale, Covalent Double IPA, Sleephyhead Passionfruit Imperial Kolsch, and their Experimental Elixir Series. Enjoy special Sour and Barrel-Aged tappings throughout the day, including Hibiscus Lemongrass Wit Sour, Dogcatcher Brett, Mountain Jam Peach Kolsch Sour, Brulant Imperial Saison Sour, Belgian Strong Sour Y2, 180 Gram Bourbon Barrel Russian Imperial Stout and more.

The Old Mine has quickly become one of our favorite Colorado Beer Bars and Saturday will prove why we love this place so much. Beginning at Noon, they’ll host The Bruery with a tap takeover that includes Humulus Lager, Trade Winds Belgian-style Tripel, Or Xata, Sour in the Rye, Tart of Darkness with Cherries & Vanilla, Freckle, Blueberry Smoking Wood, and Cuivre Anniversary Ale.

Dry Dock’s Canoe Room taps a firkin every Saturday at Noon. This week, enjoy Smoked Out Cool, which is their refreshing Cool Lime Lager with smoked jalapeños. Tapping set for Noon. River North Brewery will release Cabernet Barrel-Aged J. Marie on Saturday afternoon. Head to the brewery to try this new variation on their Imperial Saison.

The Cab barrels have imparted notes of “black currant, fresh apricot and orange marmalade”. Draft pours and bottles to-go will be available all day on Saturday. River North Brewery is located at: 2401 Blake St Unit 1, Denver, CO.

Avery Brewing will release their new Perzik Saison on Monday at 5 PM. This one’s described as a “classic saison—dry, crisp, fruity, spicy and refreshing—with a dose of summer—peaches!”
